...Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know and holds us responsible to act. Prov. 24:12

Happy Father's Day

DADDY! Oh did ya ever think you'd be spending your days and nights sharing your life with such sweet blessings! There's nothing like watching all my boys together. I am so thankful for such a wonderful husband and loving Daddy. The boys had a special day with their daddy swimming and just hanging together. Then we all went to see Toy Story, followed by their nightly story from Sam. This is a special time they have together each night. He has always been so great about reading, telling stories and spending time with them as he puts them to  bed. They absolutely love it! Really they look forward to it all day. I am just so thankful for the man God has blessed our family with. He has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. We are truly blessed to have him leading our family! We love you Daddy!

I want to add a little story I heard a few days ago...The lead singer from Casting Crowns was talking about his little girl's adoption. He said when he and his wife went to pick up their daughter and saw her for the first time, it was really emotional. For all of the obvious reasons like meeting their daughter for the very first time but  very emotional for him because she was afraid of him. See, she had never seen a man before. Living in the orphanage there were only women caring for the children. He went on to say how he was just heart broken because after days of being together he still couldn't hold his daughter. She would allow him to give her things but still he couldn't hold her. He said he just prayed, God why would you lay this on our hearts and bring us all the way here, thousands of miles away and now she won't even let me hold her? She'll take things from me but she won't let me hold her! He went on to say God said to him, how does it feel that she'll take things from you but won't let her hold her? Isn't that similar to your relationship with me? WOW...isn't that what we do to God sometimes? We'll gladly take things from Him but what He really wants is to hold us! Our heavenly father just wants to hold us!!!! How amazing is that!

The story has a happy ending of course...he did get to hold his daughter and  now she's the first to greet him when he gets home each day. It just really got my attention. Hopefully it will help someone else see things in a little different light too!
